Editorial standards

A clear framework for profile selection, writing, and review.

These standards guide how OfficialBio evaluates subjects, handles source material, presents claims, and responds to corrections.

Meaningful professional relevance

Subjects should have a substantial body of work, recognized expertise, leadership responsibility, documented achievement, or public relevance that supports a useful profile.

Factual support

Core statements should be supportable through credible public sources, official materials, direct documentation, or information supplied by an accountable representative.

Proportionate language

Profiles should avoid unsupported superlatives, vague prestige claims, and promotional language that exceeds the available evidence.

Subject distinction

Each profile should explain what is specifically notable about the subject rather than relying on a generic list of responsibilities or credentials.

Right to edit

OfficialBio may reorganize, condense, clarify, contextualize, or decline submitted material to preserve readability and consistency.

Correction access

Factual correction requests are reviewed in good faith. Supporting records may be requested where a change cannot be independently verified.

Profile selection

Profile decisions consider the subject's professional history, public relevance, quality of available information, potential reader value, and fit with the platform. Payment, sponsorship, or submission alone does not establish eligibility.

Research and sourcing

Research may include official biographies, company materials, reputable media, public databases, filings, professional credentials, interviews, and supporting documents. We may omit information that cannot be adequately supported or contextualized.

Subject participation

Subjects and authorized representatives may provide materials, suggest corrections, or answer factual questions. Participation can improve accuracy, but it does not guarantee publication of every submitted statement or requested framing.

Corrections and material updates

Correction requests should identify the URL, disputed statement, proposed correction, and supporting source. Material updates may include new leadership roles, company developments, awards, publications, or other changes that materially affect the profile.

Removal requests

Removal requests are evaluated individually. OfficialBio may retain a profile when the information remains accurate, relevant, and lawfully published. We may also update, narrow, de-index, or remove content where appropriate.

Strong design should increase understanding, not disguise weak information.
